Altoona R/C Club - July 1982
Hi Everyone,
Here are some pictures that I took back in 1982. I was very young at the time and just trying to get into the hobby. This probably would've been the 1982 Funfly at the Altoona field.
I have a lot of work to do on this post before it is finished.( so I'll say that this post is under construction)
As always, comments are welcomed. More pictures to follow.

Huge B-25 Bomber.
(Please email me additional info. on this picture - such as the name of the owner, approximate wingspan, weight of the aircraft, type of engines, and any background info. or any flight history)
(Picture 1.2)
This was the first flight attempt at the Altoona R/C field. If my memory serves me correct, the runway was too short for the B-25 to take off. The plane was held back, and then released at full throttle. Even then, the runway was still too short. I believe that it did fly, but it had to be flown from the old Tipton Airport runway.
(Please email me the name of the gentleman holding back the B-25. I know that Joe Lamont is holding the transmitter and Jack Baker is on the right.)

Liftoff! Take note of the twin sitting on the ground and see the next picture.

Jack Baker getting a large Cub ready to fly. I believe that this was Jack's twin that didn't have the greatest day. See the previous picture. (Please email me if anyone has any details of the flight or what caused the crash.)

Another picture of the Contender from the previous picture. (Please email me if anyone can identify the kid in the picture.)

A really cool R/C Ultralight. (Please email me if anyone can identify the owner of the model, the owner of the truck cap that it is sitting on or any of the model details, such as make of model, wingspan, number of channels, engine size or any flight history.)

Bob Baker's R/C Model of Leo Loudenslager Laser 200. Beautiful Model. Leo Loudenslager was one of the premier airshow performers in the 70's and early 80's. He is the only person to win seven national aerobatic titles! His aerobatics led the way for many of the aerobatic performers of today.
