Award-winning website? You decide...!
www.altvoices.org has been nominated for two UK media awards.
The first is the One World Broadcasting Trust New Media award. The OWBT Awards (http://www.owbt.org) are highly regarded in the British media. This is reflected by the sponsors who include the BBC, Channel 4, UNICEF and Save the Children.
altvoices is also in the running for a New Statesman Media Award (http://www.newstatesman.com) Our website is entered in the Information and Openness category.
The Statesman website says this award will go to: 'the individual or organisation that best uses new media technology to provide an alternative, informative voice enhancing democratic debate.'
So here's a question to start the debate... how are we doing? What does altvoices do well and what could we do better?
Providing we do not compromise our core values - inclusivity; internationalism; integrity and independence - we will make changes.
