Very well written, thank you Richard.

The only question I have is why does the driver's window have to be down?

Yours is the second question on this.

The rule is "opened".
The main reason is for better comunication between the driver and event officials.
It makes it easier for the official to check the driver for seat belt and proper helmet fitting,ie: strap fastened.
This is pretty much standard autocross procedure.

Good morning.

Everything is looking well for the Saturday event including the weather.

One more important notice for all the race teams coming this weekend.

Insurance for these events is important and we there by need to comform to the rules outlined by the insurance company.

IMPORTANT: The PITS is considered a race area. In order to enter the PIT area you must be 18 or older with ID.

You may enter the PITS if you are as young as 14 years old, however you must have a Parent or Legal Gaurdian AND sign a minor release form. The Gaurdian needs to e present the entire time the youth is in the PIT area. This is a Insurance MUST.

The grandstands and public areas will be free of charge. Anybody can enter this area and watch the event from the normal public grandstands. There is a huge area for families to hang out behind the grandstands if they choose.

Remember the concession stand will be open for food and drinks.

Regards,

AMEC AUTO X TEAM.

Good info.
I might add, along with small children there will be NO pets in the pit area.

Re: AMEC Autocross- A Must Read. Info and rules.

Hi Everyone,

Here is the news you have been waiting for about the Albany Saratoga Speedway Autocross. The weather will be good for Saturday so we will be holding the event November 7 2009. Looks like sunny and mid 40’s a nice day but bring jackets, not bad for November.

There were a lot of people that called and let us know that they could not come and we have been replacing them with people from the waiting list. Thank you all for letting us know in advance.

For the people that were notified that they made it onto the waiting list AMEC has decided to have you all come and sign up and you are in the autocross. If by some chance we have a lot of people come that never attempted to get on the waiting list the only way they might get in is if a tremendous amount of previously registered cars don’t show up. Our main goal is for every one to get a minimum of 3 timed runs during the day and have fun!

All the workers positions for the autocross will be manned by AMEC members so most likely none of you will need to work during the event. Our regular ice racing crew of workers are ready to get back out and do it for us all day long!

Just to recap, below are some items to keep in mind and things to know while at the speedway.

Be respectful of the grounds. Take your trash with you or throw it in a receptacle. Don't drop bad fluids on the grounds. There is a waste oil dumpster to use if needed. The registered driver is responsible for their crew at all times. This is a great opportunity for AMEC to possibly start a regular summer Auto cross series and we are all there as representatives of AMEC and should act accordingly.

IMPORTANT: The PIT area is considered a race area. In order to enter the PIT area you must be 18 or older with ID.

You may enter the PITS if you are as young as 14 years old but you must have a Parent or Legal Guardian in attendance AND sign a minor release form. The Guardian needs to be present the entire time the youth is in the PIT area. This is an Insurance MUST.

The grandstands and public areas will be free of charge. Anybody can enter this area and watch the event from the normal public grandstands. There is a huge area for families to hang out behind the grandstands if they choose.
