 New message board users:
Hello all A.M.E.C. enthusiasts and guests,
Just a simple note for all who have never registered for a message board forum before:
There's nothing to it, and it is completely free. It only takes a minute or two to fill out a few lines on the registration page to get registered.
Pick a user name [the name that will appear on your posts].
Your real name is preferred, but you can also use your car number, or a nickname if you must.
Please be courteous, if you do choose to use a fictitious user name. When you make a post please add your real name plus your car number and class at the bottom of your posts.
OK, back to registering: You aren't required to fill in every blank or give out any personal information. The only things really necessary are your chosen user name, current email address, and chosen password [your birthday, your dogs name, you get the picture]. You won't have to use your password every time to log on. Once you get registered, you simply start posting anytime you want. If you have any questions feel free to ask me at mkamm at icerace dot com.
You will see an option to pay $10 a year to upgrade your account. Don't let this fool you into thinking it's required, just ignore it and Go!

There are so many neat features that this forum has. If you choose, it can send you an email notification to let you know that a new post has been made to a topic you previously posted in.
You can also type in a "signature" that will be added at the bottom of all your posts. It can show a message, hype the your car of choice, divulge what color underwear you have, etc. 
You can upload an avatar. That is a small picture [60x60 pixels] that will also appear in the upper left hand corner all of your posts.
Note: to access these features, left click on the left upper portion of the screen where it says: "Control panel". Then on the left click on "Change miscellaneous settings". You will find two empty boxes on the top for you to fill in. The first is for your avatar. This is a small picture that will appear on all of your posts. It has to be small, only 60 x 60 pixels. The second box is for your signature message. Your signature will also appear at the bottom of all of your posts. You can change your signature any time you want.
You can write in bold print, red print, big print, italics, whatever your heart desires.
Have some fun with the smilies too. 
Some may not have the time to get creative and if that's the case, just post your message and don't worry about the fancy stuff.

This is a great place with knowlwedgable ice racers and motor enthusiasts alike.

Thread subscriptions
Originally, this board used to automatically "subscribe" you to any thread that you posted in.
But now, in order to "susbscribe" to a particular thread, [after you have finished posting your message and are viewing it] click on "Subscribe to Topic" from the menu at the top of the screen [just above the advertisements]. This is especially useful when you've posted a question in a thread. This way you will receive an email letting you know whenever someone posts a reply to that thread.
Very handy.
