Add the map
When flying the mission it would be nice to have the map displayed (right or left side) so you could easily see which zone you were in. It would be useful for making critical decisions, such as "am i in neutral territory?" , "Can I make with the fuel on board to the sea and ditch and still complete the mission?", etc. Besides, it just be cool.

Re: Add the map
The map is already there, but you have to look through the documentation (click 'Help') for it. I could make the link more obvious -- higher up in the doc tree -- or possibly put a link directly on the mission form, if you think one of those would be more helpful?

Re: Add the map
I'll look for it there. Having it as a menu item would be handy, but think there are other things it would be nice to take care of first.
Having the map up with the an icon of a bomber (appropriate type, of course) automatically moving from zone-to-zone would be nice. But, again, not at the expense of other items first.

Re: Add the map
I thought about the moving icon thing, but I'm not a graphics programmer.

Re: Add the map
Yea. Me either. Just a plain old VB6 & .Net developer.
BTW, I'm working on a new interface in .Net 2005 Beta 2 for the Bomber & Aircrew Maintenance screens. Mostly, as an excersize in getting familiar with the product. One of the things MS has done in the version of .Net is to trash the DataGrid (thank God) and replace it with a new control called DataGridView. Very sweet.

Re: Add the map
Unfirtunately -- or not, depending on how you look at it -- I'm not doing any VB6 programming anymore. All my new development is PHP and MySQL. The only thing VB-like that I am doing is a bit of VBScript on existing web pages.
