Pending alpha 1
I have an apparently operational distribution file. I have successfully installed and uninstalled it from my machine multiple times. The .exe itself is 728k, which isn't bad. The archive would be 2-3 megs ... except ... For some reason it wants me to add in a file called "Mdac_typ.exe", which by itself is 8.1 freaking megs. Good Lord. As a result the archive file is a whopping 12 megs! I don't have 12 spare megs (4.5 actually) on my web account to host the file, and trying to e-mail something like that would take obnoxiously long. I'm going to try and figure if there is a way to get rid of that lard-ass file, but in the meantime, do you have any ideas on other means of distribution?

Re: Pending alpha 1
I spent some time on MSDN last night. Apparently it is highly inadvisable to unbundle MDAC to get at the components you want. In typical Micro$oft fashion, there's a lot of crap in it your app might not need. (e.g., "FoxPro for Oracle", or whatever they name it all)

Re: Pending alpha 1
I may have found a solution. In typical Microsoftian fashion, rather than do something efficiently (by having a smaller file) I will simply pump up the volume. Steve Dixon's ISP (www.allwebco.com) has 600 megs storage and 15 gigs monthly throughput for only ~$20 a month. Such a deal they give to you ...
