New Drink
OK, I can't say it's truly new, but it's new to me. This past weekend the S.O. commanded that I find some Ke Ke Beach key lime cream liquor for some fancy vodka martini drink she'd had in Boston. While I'm still not sure any vodka drink should be called a "martini", here it is for your drinking pleasure ....
Key Lime Martini
2/3 oz Ke Ke Beach liquor
2/3 oz Rose's lime juice
1 1/2 oz Stoli vanilla vodka
Skake with ice cubes and then pour into martini glass.
ps - I didn't have one but all those who did gave it a big thumbs up.
:p

Re: New Drink
What the heck is Ke Ke Beach liquor?
Oh and vodka can only make a "vodka martini" not a martini- and I'm guessing that the name martini is used because no one can come up something better.

I had never heard of Ke Ke Beach liquor either. Apparently some posh posh drink thing, now in vogue. It is a cream liquor with key lime flavor. The drink is something like a key lime mudslide I guess. Some night I'll have to try it though I prefer my vodka with kahlua and no cream.

It is listed in the NH state liquor store inventory, product #8518 at $10.99 per 750 ml bottle. But the inventory presently is listed as 0 on hand, 0 on order. cry I'm not sure what it takes to order liquor, I've never done that before. The Kappy's chain in MA carries it but at $20.00 per bottle ! THHHPT
Maybe I'll see what it takes (min quantity) to get an order placed. Knowing my significant other, she (and friends) will go through a case of it over the summer ... Last year it was Watermelon Pucker for watermelon magaritas, I got a feeling this year it's key lime liquor.
http://www.nh.gov/liquor/
ps - I found out that an added splash of cream (or half'n'half), not listed in original recipe, is considered "a must" by the female contingent who sampled the mix this Easter.
