Sorry I skipped out last night too early - didn't realize we were so close to breaking the record! I was on my way to the pub.

That thingie in the Guinness is called a "rocket widget" and the cans have em' and the tall bottles, but not the shorter bottles (because they are lame).

Last night, we ended up at a place that didn't have Guinness - can you believe it? They offered us GREEN AMSTEL LIGHT instead! What blasphemy! I ended up having a green martini and if I see another one again it will be too soon.

So I go to a link that is supsed to show how to get the widget out. It is a cartoon where they smash the bottle. Well I already knew that. After a couple, it sounded more reasonable. $11 million to develop it no less.

That Guiness widget or rocket widget is annoying- I don't like to drink Foam- I have to wait for the foam to die off before I can drink it. And it's the only reason to not buy the stuff in cans and bottles. I'll stick to the smalle bottles of the stout that don't have the damn thing in in them.
If a place only has the can or bottle with the thingy in it- then I'm kind of stuck unless they have Becks Dark- :p

Four weeks to St. Paddy's Day....

here's a good one...
quote:

Murphy had never been seen in church in his life, and the priest nearly
collapsed in shock when Murphy walked through the door for Mass one
Sunday.

After Mass, the priest caught up with Murphy. "I'm so glad ye decided
to join us today, Murphy," he said. "But I'm curious. What was it that
brought ye here?"

"I got to be honest with ye Father," Murphy replied. "A while back I
lost me hat, and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn
had a hat just like mine, and I knew that McGlynn come to church every
Sunday. I also knew that McGlynn had to take that hat off 'is head
during Mass and figured he'd leave it in the back of church. So, I was
going to leave after communion and steal McGlynn's hat."

The priest said, "Well, Murphy, I see that ye didn't steal McGlynn's
hat. What changed your mind?"

Murphy said, "Well, after I heard yer sermon on the 10 Commandments, I
decided that I didn't want to steal McGlynn's hat after all."

The priest gave Murphy a big smile. "Ah, I see," he said. "After I
talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' ye decided ye'd rather do without
yer hat than burn in Hell, eh?"

Murphy shook his head and said, "No, Father, after ye talked about
'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left the thing in
the first place."
