EMOTICON QUESTION

This may be a question for SKOKEY, JScott or the Knife. I've disabled the emoticons. they were driving me nuts. They automatically appeared in posts to replace certain letter combinations such as OK. So when you typed suncook you got a little smiley face saying OK in the middle of the word. (So OK it's the end of the word) How do I set them so that you can choose to place one in a post when you want but not have them automatically appear when unwanted? Wolfeboro Off-line appears to be set up that way but I'm missing some important setting...I guess. Any help appreciated!

Re: EMOTICON QUESTION

Hey McDude,
In the emoticon name that appears after the URL, just put a colon in front of and after the name like - :OK:
Skoke.

edit:
Oh, but now my interesting story with all the OK's in it will just be normal. Oh well.
Go for it, Man.

Re: EMOTICON QUESTION

OK I fixed it! ....but it may take a few hours to migrate. I did the colon thing and the emoticons are showing back up in old posts but not appearing as selections on the new posts yet. The reason it took so long to do this is I am swamped at work...yikes....but only 14 days to go!
Thanks Skokey!
also I need to add some new emoticons. I hope JScott's links are still on Wolfeboro Off Line.

After Cowgirl made me an Admin at WoffL, I decided to learn more about how these forums work. When i'm bored and have nothing better to do, I read the Runboard Support Forums and spotted that there.

The smilies haven't showed up yet as available when writing a new post.

Here's some links to many smilies.
