Skokey,
Thanks for getting out the car strecher for me as I couldn't find mine any where out in the shop.
Now if you can explain how to use the BIG, center, and whatever the other stuff is. I tried it every way I could and everything but what I wanted changed in size or centered. ;)

When you click "BIG", the type face gets big, but you also have to click "/BIG" when you are done.

and if you click "Center" and then click "/Center", you will be centered

Always click one b u t t o n before you start typing and then click the "/" b u t t o n of the same name when you are done

scroll

bold

italics

underline

I'm not sure what to do with the "Code" "/Code" b u t t o n

Skokey,
Is there a way to drop the RLW in the Avatar and keep the picture the right proposition. I tried and it appears to be have been hit by 2 trucks, but not as hard as the first accident.
Your help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
RLW1

Thanks so much for you help AGAIN. Guess I should sit and play more instead of doing my son's office work and I might learn more. Being an ole geezer and a bad case of CRS it takes awhile for things to sink in and then we tend to loss it quickly also.
Again thanks for the help it is well appreciated.
RLW1 ;)

As the kids would say - kewl ;) So I just today see all the new easy to use smilies. I take it from this and jscott's other post that "we the people" (vs runboard corporate code monkeys) can add smilies to the list. Certainly easier than going to another website to copy and paste a URL (though kudo's to Narly Green Canoe). So now I propose we all should think about what smilies need to get added to the easy clickable list.

ps - It's kinda odd that some key words will get interpreted to be a smilie, ie c00l (w/o's vs 0's) gets you a smilie. Could be an Easter egg kind of thing, hide a few smilies that "pop up" at unexpected times. Now that would be cool

pps - my favorite so far Whack .... but w h a c k ?

mcdude,
That is clear as mud. Some won't even get by the URL part of your write up. You are not explaining this to everyone that understands computer savy. The way it is written doesn't sound very user friendly to me. Can you make it a little clearer and while your at it come up with and easy way to install the avatar. (sp) :|

URL simply means Universal Resource loacation or locator, now let me explain that.
URL means the path to something like a web address such as www.thenarlygreencanoe.com or www.snopes.com or some other web site URL. ok, it's the what some, might call the name- it's an address- without going into jargon about how this also can be translated to it's IP numer- (I'll stop now with that junk)

URL as I said is an address- like 125, West Wolfeboro Drive or similar but it's for the internet.

Now - a url for an image could be something like this :

http://home.earthlink.net/~fatkitty5/upants.jpg

To break this down "http://" means Hypertext Transfer Protocol and is required, many a web browser will fill this for you if you just typw the URL such as www.whatever.com , in the url above home.earthlink.net/~fatkitty5 is the location on the web it indicates that this is on an earthlink web server and on that web server it is in a sub loaction called fatkitty5 , I don't know why earthlink adds in the "~" and the image name is upants.jpg. And the ",jpg" indicates the image type, of which the most popular image types are jpg, gif, and png, there are plenty more- but those are the most widly used .
the complete url = http://home.earthlink.net/~fatkitty5/upants.jpg
Now what I do to get an image to post in a thread is I manually type in the commands and past the url between them.
image commands begin with [img]
and then end with [/img]
and inbetween goes the url, which I will post here with spaces in between the letters used in the cammands so you can see what it may look like and it won't show the image instead.
[i m g ] http://home.earthlink.net/~fatkitty5/upants.jpg [ / i m g ]
Oh and the slash's are used to lift and separate-

and when done correctly the image will appear
