Skicraft ban. Interest in partial lift
Skicraft were banned in the late 80s from suncook lake. This occured when these 1 and 2 person vessels first entered the marketplace and "reckless" drivers caused a national fear after a few isolated issues. Todays skicraft market is signifigantly smaller as all manufacturers now focus on 3 person crafts that are registered as a "boat". Two single person skis are still produced currently (kawi 800sxr/yamaha superjet) and a few 2 person musclecraft. However, the 3 person boats of today dominate the marketplace. They are faaaar more dangerous due to there speed and size than the small 2 strokes of yesteryear. I am an avid vintage skicraft rebuilder residing in barnstead. I thoroughly enjoy the limitations set on halfmoon lake. I think they are smart and make sense. I can operate my crafts there monday through fridays. Weekends they are restricted. This is perfect as the weekend has busy boat traffic as well.
I am curious if we could explore a similiar restriction update on suncook? Potentially at our annual meeting?
It looks as though there are residents on upper suncook who are not abiding by the current restriction. I am curious if there is an exception for a waterfront property owner?
Thanks.
