Mobile Phone Coverage
I all,
Can anyone tell me what mobile phone coverage exists around the Alton Shores Association? I have Cingular and I know I cannot receive a signal in the area. Does anyone from the Alton Shores community have a mobile coverage that atleast works?
Thanks!

Re: Mobile Phone Coverage
I am a bit far from Alton Shores but when I visit up there my Verizon Wireless works fairly well. I hear some people in the shadow of Mt. Major have to go a short distance to get a signal but Verizon seems to be the best of the bunch.

Re: Mobile Phone Coverage
My Real Estate Agent has Verizon and she was not able to receive coverage at Alton Shores. So that eliminates, Verizon and Cingular. :)
Thanks for suggesting! Anyone else know of mobile carriers who cover that area?

Re: Mobile Phone Coverage
None is really better than the other up here, we have even tried the high-power radio cellphones. Verizon works in places, Nextel in others, but none right here in the "shadows". Not to be a bummer, but I have seen the town's wireless engineering study maps which were done last summer, and there is little chance of us having decent coverage up here even if more wireless facilities are built in Alton. I expect they would have to be built in Gilmanton for us to benefit.
I think those studies can be seen at the Planning Office if anyone's interested in taking a look.

Re: Mobile Phone Coverage
Consider yourself fortunate that we have no cell phone coverage!!!! It's one of the benefits of staying in the area. My wife wants a phone at the lake, but it won't happen until.....
