VLAP = Volunteer Lake Assessment Program - ***VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for AUGUST ! ! ! !

Many thanks to all of the Alton Shores Association members for voting to fund the second yearly volunteer lake water quality testing program through the NH Dept. of Environmental Services. The Place's Point Association has been funding one study per year for many years. DES would like two studies done per year. We completed the July study on July 2. Many thanks to our mentor, John Harrington, to Scott Wye for bringing us out in his Dad's (RLW) boat on Sunset Lake and to Tim and Pam Couronos. Tim took us out in his boat on Hills Pond and Pam picked up and dropped off all the equipment in Concord. A job well-done. Thanks everyone!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Is there a volunteer(s) who would be available some week day in August to join John and Carol Harrington and learn the ropes of how to conduct the lake water quality testing? It would take maybe 3-4 hours. I'll post the proposed date when I hear back from John. Also, is there anyone on either lake who would be willing to take the 'team' out in their boat?
thanks!
 ciao

I just heard back from John Harrington and he says..
quote:

It may be kind of late at this point, but we will be testing Sunset around 9:30 or so on Monday, August 14th. As you know, we will break for lunch around noon and then do Hill's right after lunch.

So if anyone will be around and would like to "learn the ropes" just let us know. McD
