Hello to all!
This is a great site. I got a call from the family member who owns the camp on Sunset Lake that is titled (House on the point) I have been looking at the pictures and they are really good. We pay close attention to the loons every year that pick our lake for there nesting ground. It was interestiing reading about the one that did not get out before the ice in 2005. Glad to read it is doing fine. =D I would like to know if anyone knows how all the run off will effect the water quality?

Welcome Trapper!
I always loved that house out on the point. What a wonderful porch to sit on and watch the world go by!! Is it attached to the driveway that had quite a bit of wash-out up by the road?
As far as wash-out in the lake is concerned...my guess is that because of the high water and the significant flow that the run-off is "WATER OVER THE DAM" so the speak LITERALLY! (But I've been wrong before!)

We love it. It is really nice to sit and be able to see almost the whole lake! Our highlight of the day is to sit on the porch or the deck and watch the sunset.
That is not our driveway. Every year the spring runoff runs into the turnaround, down the road and then down our driveway. This is the first year in almost 40 years, that I know of, most of it went a bit further down the road rock1
Not so good for our neighbors

I Miss Sunset Lake
My name is Sean Mulkerron, son of John Mulkerron. Our family owned the cottage about 4 houses from the dam. I can see the lake is still beautiful as it was in the 80's. I want to rent a cottage on the lake this summer to surprise my parents. we sold the place so their 7 kids can all go to college. Now, we must return the favor. Welcome Mulkerron. I'll keep you in mind if I hear of anyone in need of renters. I presume you are looking for a summer rental? If you wanted to bring your folks up in early june/september I'm sure you will have no problem finding someone interesting in letting you pay their taxes. Will let you know if I hear of anything,

Check out Curry's Web Page in the Spring if you don't get a better offer. There are two houses on Sunset that are rented through Curry in the past few years. Here is one of them...
