lots on unimproved roads in Alton Shores?
We're looking at a little lot for sale on one of the unimproved roads in Alton Shores. We're not looking to build anytime soon. Is there anyone here who can tell me how the wells, etc. are up in that area, maybe some of the background on the neighborhood? How has the road improvement happened in the past?

Re: lots on unimproved roads in Alton Shores?
Hi averyHill:
I'd suggest you go to the Alton Shores website and contact Ray Johnson who could really fill you in on all the details. A quick summary would be....The association owns the water system and three wells. The water quality is excellent. There is an initial hook-up fee and a yearly maintenance fee. Less and less people are using the system (as folks dig their own wells) so the cost to each user is going up.
If a contractor wants to develop a lot on an unimproved road (owned by the association BTW) a bond must be posted and no building or occupancy permits will be issued until certain requirements are met r.e. road improvement.
Drop me an e-mail if you have any more questions. McD
