Mt. Major Fire

Just "borrowed" this from the Conway Daily Sun.

Apr 25, 11:52 AM EDT

Fire burning on Mt. Major in Alton

ALTON, N.H. (AP) -- A brush fire that's a mile long already has burned at least 30 acres on New Hampshire's Mount Major and continues to spread.

Firefighters from throughout southern and central New Hampshire are on the mountain, battling raging flames and tough terrain.

Firefighters began fighting the flames Thursday, but were pulled off the mountain after dark. Commanders say the fire tripled in size overnight and has spread to about 30 acres. The flames are not contained.

A National Guard helicopter also been dropping water and foam on the flames.

Fire officials are concerned the fire will intensify with the heat of the day.

Hope everyone is safe.
