Timeslaughter in Soul Calibur IV

I've been playing Soul Caliber IV, the weapon fighting game. The part that I think interests you is the character creation part (that feature's not new, but now with the Xbox Live online play feature, we can show off these character designs online.) It even allows for some voice customization.

What attracted me about Bloodlust games were the character designs. Since Timeslaughter 2 seem a little to be in limbo, I was just thinking of reproducing some of Bloodlust characters in Soul Caliber IV.

I've played around more with the character creation toolset. While there are certain limitations, I think I can "port" to Soul Caliber IV the following Bloodlust characters:

- Guillotine
- Reaper
- Sinnamon
- Klubbor
- Jinsoku
- Vlad
- ****man

There's a characters that'll be hard to build in Soul Caliber IV, but if I can pull it off, it'd be sweet:

- Cannibal Ed
- Hellbent Deathspew
- Osburto the Black Plague Ninja

Anyway, this is a way to kind of keep Timeslaughter II alive. Maybe we'll run into each on Xbox Live.

Re: Timeslaughter in Soul Calibur IV

Sorry for the delay. I put together a (rogues) gallery of the Bloodlust characters I made in Soul Calibur IV at:

My Live Space (named after Timeslaughter)

I'm having trouble posting images directly in this forum, sorry. I basically chose a few characters from each major Bloodlust game/series. Then I kept trying to perfect these character designs by staying true to the spirit of Bloodlust.

EXECUTIONERS

Guillotine - The game is set in the sixteenth century, so this is kind of like Guillotine's medieval ancestor in ancient armor. In-game, I give him massive weapons, like giant axes and zwei-hander swords.

Reaper - Initially, I didn't plan to make Reaper in the game...I thought it too difficult to make some sort of brown pajama-ed razor ninja. Then after making Guillotine as a medieval knight, I started making Reaper as an Arabic assassin. I originally equipped him with a Japansese katana, but due to his name I use him with a scythe weapon now.

NOGGIN KNOCKERS

Klubbor - Very easy to craft, so I added some details like the skull shoulder pads (as seen in his ending in Noggin X.) And of course, he wields a giant wooden club.

Sinammon - Again, very easy to make in Soul Calibur IV. I chose a hairstyle where she has her long hair curled in a bun, more efficient for close combat. Also note her weapon...it's actually a whip-sword that, when pulled together, looks like a rose (the flower at the handle, the spikes like a stem.)

TIMESLAUGHTER

Jinsoku - I worked on this one for a long time because having red robes just looked too plain. So I tweaked Jinsoku a lot, including adding a breastplate tied with a holy Ainu red sash. Now, regarding his signature wristblades, I actually translated that into his weapons. They are tonfa (they look like police batons,) but instead of being made of wooden sticks there are actually 2 metal blades (which resemble the moon crescent shuriken he throws.) Not only do they look closest to the wristblades, but the fighting style actually involves a lot of spinning to confuse the opponent.

Mojumbo - Again, I tweaked this a long time. I added some ornamentation (some skull shoulder pads, horns on his mask.) Mostly, though, it's his weapons. He carries 2 short spears that are actually kebab sticks, which clearly hold meat. That's to fit his cannibal background. What's funniest is that his fighting style involves some magic, like flight and fireballs, while he often skewers his opponents like a spit roast.

TIMESLAUGHTER II

****man - In-game, I labeled him as one of his epithets, "The Fecal Friar." This one was a mission impossible, but the end result looks good. His armor AND weapon is made of petrified feces, including his signature tutu. I gave him a necklace of titanic dingleberries. His hair is made of cornrows that look like skids of brown.

Lament - The poor dear is stuck in development limbo, so I didn't have much reference to work with except her portrait in the Timeslaughter II page. I tried to emulate her outfit in a gothic style. Her forearms are actually bandaged to represent her self-mutilation, sorry it's not clear in the photo. However, it's her sword that I think suits her the most. I gave her daggers initially, as per Hellbent's initial design, but then I swapped it for this daemonic sword (which constantly shimmers with an evil red glow) to better match her magic skills. In-game, one of her moves is to stab a downed opponent in the mid-section, and while the blade is still in his gut, she raises a hand towards the heavens to summon a lightning bolt that courses through her arms into the sword into the opponent.

---

As an aside, just a few interesting points.

Recreating the appearance of the characters is challenging, but actually each piece of armor and weapon chosen actually has in-game effects (except in the game's Arcade mode, which is supposed to be fair competition.)

Thus, all these characters have different attributes and abilities due to their difference items. Normally, Guillotine would be the most powerful, due to the sheer heavy armor he's wearing. As it turns out, Reaper might be a little better, but the hands-down winner is Klubbor. He just deals so much damage.
