Naish helix
Well I must say I was well impressed with the Helix, very strange looking kite and flown on a very clean and simple SLE bar. The power delivary was smooth and constant all the way through the sheeting range,it had an amazing low end in 16 knots guys of 16 stone were getting upwind on a 9m helix, You could generate power even when sheeted out by turning the kite as it still responded well. Turning was absolutely insane, it turned as a bow can on its axis, but felt more like a quick c kite. There was never a point when I didn't know where the kite was in the sky... another bow criticism. For wave riding this could be sick as it will turn fast and on its axis which could make for amazing bottom turns.
I am not a fan of bows or sles. I love my Torch 3 kites,However I think Naish have really bridged a gap between bows and c kites. Who woudln't want all the good things about a nice C kite? Power on demand, responsive turning, predictability, coupled with the good things about bows; simple bar set-up (4line), amazing range and depower...
and it has the most reliable relaunch you just have to pull on one of the rear lines and it just popes up out the water.
