BCFA League 'Booklets' As minds turn towards next season can I make a suggestion, and I'd appreciate your views.
For many years the BCFA would issue each team, at the start of the season, with small booklets. For those of you unfamiliar with the booklets, they contained
* a foreward by the BCFA Chairman
* contact details of the BCFA Committee
* tables and cup/shield final results from the previous season
* an honours/history page
* all BCFA league team contacts (team/ground/colours/contacts/phone numbers)
* BCFA rules
* all the season's fixtures
* notes on scoring for the Solomon Trophy.
I appreciate we have moved into the www age with most of this info on the BCFA site, but the advantages of the books are ...
* they are small and you could take them with you to meetings etc
* all the season's fixtures are there in a concise form
* you could take the booklets to games as the contact details of opponents were there
* it provided a good foreward from Tim Shears
* you could readily give the book to a new member of your team and provide all the info they needed on the BCFA.
The books obviate the need to print out lots of screen shots from the www site. My view is that the books were excellent and the league ought to consider producing them again. They were mumurings last season that they might be produced again, but nothing happened.
How about some comments and a vote? (I hope I've set it up correctly.)

Re: BCFA League 'Booklets' I must agree with my learned friend (who incidently is clearly resigned to a position on the bench on Saturday judging by his shirt number!)
I would go further and suggest that the website needs a reshuffle so that all this stuff and more (the full constitution perhaps?)is reproduced in electronic format and more readily available on the website and easier to find in a more logical layout.
I also think the website could be a bit more editorial with topical league news with up to date info.
Perhaps this a suggestion for the AGM agenda?
I could even be talked into being the web editor maybe? My CV will be the TBCFC site!

Re: BCFA League 'Booklets' Not sure that would be a good idea judging by the amount of unauthorised editing that goes on with our website match reports!!
Re: BCFA League 'Booklets' Agreed on League booklets. Geoff has agreed to sort it out definately this season.
I can't believe you don't think the web site is organised logically. I do think a lot of it is redundant now that most of the statistical info is now on the FULL TIME web site. An overhaul is needed. Anyone who wants to contribute content / suggest sections / propose a better layout is welcome.

Re: BCFA League 'Booklets' Only a thought, but would it be an idea to create the booklet as a PDF document which means it could be downloaded from the web site and if it ever needs an update you can just republish it on the site. Anyone could then take a printed copy with them to matches etc?
Re: BCFA League 'Booklets' That's not a bad idea Huwl. However, it then depends on the person's printer, stapling etc and won't be as polished as the books would be. Also, the booklets were pocket size, hence why they were so practical to use, and printing on A7 (don't think there is A7 but you get my drift!) is pretty impractical for most people.
