Torbay Christians 0 Nailsea Churches FC 1 - Nailsea boys on tour`

This was a close fought game against a very very good Torbay team (they beat Woodlands recently)

Shook the nailsea boat up with some surprises in the team selection. Feargo and Woodward dropped, Kelvin hall moved to right midfield from his coveted striking role and Danny the man hewlett, jack of all positions played up front.

Torbay played some fantastic football moving the ball around well, they were unlucky to have to goals disallowed, one because one of their strikers shouted "Let it go" before scoring, think we were lucky there and another one when a shot was rifled into the net way way after the ref and blown up for a foul.

The second half saw one of the best 45 minutes Nailsea have played in a long time and half way through we took the lead. Torbay failed to clear a corner and mike Wood powered through their defence for a simple tap

Torbay kept us under pressure and did deserve a draw from this game but the Nailsea brick was too solid.

plus points
Man of the Match Sam Andrews was awesome in goal

new players Jose, only 18 looked confident and exposed at right back

on his debut James Sutherland was outstanding in centre midfield

Adam Mark normally a centre midfielder look good at centre back,

everyone played extremely well and cannot pick out a bad performance

we played some great footy at time

negative points

me, knackered knee, lasted 20 mins and may well be out for some considerable time.

Following the game we went for a pint with some of the torbay lads and then made our way into plymouth for a wild night out.

9 of the lads ended up in reflex with little kev car being asked to leave cos he was too drunk,

3 of the lads ended up in Bar Cuba and spent £150 on double vodkas between them!

The other6 of us ended up in Oceania and spent the evening counting how many women spurned the advances of Jose. about 20

no one got to bed before 3.30 am except for james who retired at about half twelve, went to bed with a good book and cup of cocoa i think. to be fair he did get up and get us some bread, butter, milk and ornage juice and a paper.

anything else well what happened on the tour stays on the tour

photos to be published shortly!

let me guess - the 3 spending £150 on Vodkas were Dan H, Feargo and Adam?....surley not Mr. Provis?

Kev Carr throwing up and being drunken and disorderly. A lad after my own heart.

Sounds like a good weekend chaps and might be tough getting my place back in 'The Brick' once fit from my operation.

Where are the fixtures for next season by the way? Need to plan my diary.

Bit short sighted by the club if i'm honest. What we would save washing/replacing kit will be taken up in plastic surgery to tuck Fears Left Foot belly in.
