This is the finished draft:

How about...
A second booking saw Villa's pugnacious.....
That'd save you the time, although it doesn't sound quite as good.
That doesn't work.
How does it not work? What is wrong about...
"A second booking saw Villa's pugnacious midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker make an early exit on the hour mark,"

It just says about second yellow with no reference to him getting the first one, just confused me slightly. Go on start the jibes.

Re: The 'Slip thread
did my report at 3.45, i think the course leader quite liked it; as much as you can do when you've been in their since 11.00 hearing a report every 5 minutes!
i didn't make any mistakes, which was good as i was worried i was going to get tongue tied when it came to Gabriel Agbonlahor!
thanks for the feedback/ideas, i'll be sure to use the board as a test audience in future whenever the next one may be!
on the point of radio bulletins, one of my mates did a brilliant one the other day in a practise run. he said he was in the mood for puns when he wrote the report for Denmark 1-3 Spain, which he began something like:
The Great Danes bark was worse than their bite as they slumped to a defeat against a dogged Spain side.
it also included references to Denmark making a dogs dinner of numerous chances, and Spain sending them home with their tails between their legs, and even the lecturer was loving it!
