Talking of City, on the BBC Quotes of the Week thing, it says they were chanting "Shanghai on Tuesday nights" at their last game. Fairly witty I thought. emoticon

Unfortunately I'm going to the most obscene team in football this evening and not Shanghai

They're implying that they will get promotion to the Premiership, by referencing the Prems recent proposal to play matches in different parts of the world. A bit more original than "Goin up, going up...".

OK, I get it now. Very amusing. Must have just been one bloke singing it, hence why it was picked up. In all the games I've ever been there for, you hardly get anyone singing.

That's because you're used to the overwhelming atmosphere created at Withdean emoticon

Touche ! BTW, with the wads of cash HL have just announced with the 6 months results, does Lansdown Snr have any spare cash to invest in Brighton to help them build their new stadium? You know, its all about spreading your risk, not having all your eggs in one basket etc....... emoticon

Re: Premiership thread

Watched MOTD last night and they showed a close up slow mo of Eduardo's double compound (sticking out of skin) fracture , the bone comes out of the sock. Horrible. I would post a pic but some people might not be able to stomach it (Kirby). Hope it's not career threatening, he's got age on his side, his bones won't be fully formed yet so he'll be ok hopefully. Bit extreme by Wenger saying that Taylor should never play again, glad he retracted that statement. I remember Diouf doing a similar tackle on Arbeloa earlier this season but on that occasion luckily no injury was sustained.

Quote from Steve Bruce regarding Taylor:
"He has mis-timed the tackle, and I've seen it. Some would say it is not even a yellow card."

Not even a yellow!!?? So he's basically saying it wasn't a dangerous tackle, although it snapped someones leg!
