Liverpool Discussion Thread Just to avoid sidetracking other threads (something that we Slippers are loathe to do), I thought I'd set up this speacial thread.
Ben/Dan, looks like some very good news is on the horizon...
Re: Liverpool Discussion Thread Funny how it's all turned so sour with Liverpool, I'm sure I could find some great quotes from your lot earlier in the season (mainly from Dan), it was Arsenal who were supposed to be in crisis!... at least we can say are a club owned by English, let's hope it always stays that way, don't want any fat Russians or cowboys in control.... thanks to Liverpool the rest of the Premiership can see how wrong it can go... I hear Liverpool are also going to have to pay £30m interest per-year for the new stadium, you had better qualify for the Champs league then!
Re: Liverpool Discussion Thread i feel sorry for the 'pool, despite the fact that i don't really like them.
you are a huge club and deserve to be up their challenging at the business end of the season.
i agree that most of rafa's recent big money signing have been good, but i still think he has to take criticism.
i understand the blind loyalty the fans have as he has taken you to two european cup finals which is frankly astonishing with some of the players he had to use, but surely he deserves some criticism?
he has spent more than £130m since he arrived 4 years ago (admittedly recouping £75m of that, but surely they were players he didn't want anyway) to shape a team in his own image.
this season you face a battle for fourth place and only just qualified for the knockout phase of europe (although it wouldn't surprise me if you somehow made it to another final in which case i guess everything is rosy)
but it's not just purely results. i don't think even liverpool fans would argue that you play anywhere near the brand of football that arsenal and man united produce, and even the comfort of telling yourselves that at least you play more attractive football than chelsea has gone.
surely it's not good enough?

I'd actually disagree with this. You only deserve to be up their challenging if you win enough games, and we haven't done that in the league for a long time.
Re: Liverpool Discussion Thread Thats why we only refer to it as the Big 3, if we are talking in terms of England then Blackburn and Leeds deserve as much right to be in the Big 4 as Liverpool.

But Blackburn or Leeds don't have the same fan base or money than us.
