Re: Cricket
What, so you don't learn anything after you are 21? If he was the real deal back then he would have been playing for South Africa. When he first came over he was an off spinner who batted a bit.
I know whatyou are saying but someone like KP has earnt his stripes so to speak. Pattinson however is a bit odd, even 2 months ago he would have had no ambition of playing for England.

No of course you do. I just think he's far more South African than he is English.

To be fair, I'm sure you learn a lot more up to the age of 21 than you do after it. KP is bor and bred English as far as I'm concerned though. Vaughan out, KP as the new skipper I say!!

Can't see how you can say he is born and bred English! He was born in SA and grew up in SA.
Not sure I agree re captaincy. Not because he's a foreigner but because I think he needs to concentrate solely on his batting.
I have no issues with Pieterson playing for England. Especially when in Athletics Merlene Ottey was allowed to compete for Slovenia, Kiptinui for Denmark and Obekwelu for Portugal, not to mention all those Kenyans running for Qatar.

Athletics is too lax on which country you run for though. Athletes change country mid-career and all sorts. I think that once you've represented your country, that's it, you can't change.

Indeed. I have only made myself available to England. I feel I could never represent another country.
