A girl friend of mine had an overnight stay at a Gloucestershire players house a while ago. She bumped into him on Saturday night briefly and they exchanged a few awkward words. Then he randomly messaged her yesterday to ask if she was pregnant. She replied no. At which point you would think he'd be suitably embarrassed, maybe even try to cover his tracks with a line like 'you were glowing like only pregnant women seem to'. But no, his reply was "you have a bit of a bump there" - Ouch!
Brilliant!! Can't believe that Beano is still trying to use that line with the ladies though

Re: Cricket
Do not claim to be an esteemed cricket expert but...
I like it, it's entertaining, will keep the umpires on their toes as they wont want to be displayed as incorrect infront of everybody at the time, England will probably be regretting not being the first to use it as 'making history' is cool and maybe we might not have lost a few wickets i.e. Collingwood!

They tried a version last season in county cricket which was absolutley pointless. The 3rd umpire could change the umpire's decision if it was categorically incorrect (can't remember the exact details) but basically it resulted in no decisions being reversed at all and the players didn't like it.
The England players' view was they did not want ot undermine the umpires. I thin what this experiment will show is that most umpires get 90% right which will not undermine them at all.
I think this is a good move. It will get rid of the 1-2 really bad decisions you get a test match.
Be interested to see how they go with some LBW's though as hawk eye tends to give more out than the umpires do. But hawk eye cannot be completely relied upon so I would like to see the 3rd umpire giving it not out if hawk eye says it is just flicking leg stump or just taking the top of a bail.

I agree, when umpires give an lb appeal not out and it shows to be just flicking, I think that's a good decision by the umpire as he obviously could not be 100%. But saying that, hawkeye could help make his decision from 99% sure to 100% sure.

I almost agree with that. Hawk eye can never completely tell what a cricket ball will do. Sometimes you get a bit of late swing that hawk eye might not pick up.
The biggest thing it will do is give alot more left handers not out LBW as the ball pitched outside leg stump, a real bug bear of mine.
