Cripes, playing cricket? Or wearing a Liverpool shirt?
Playing cricket. A Jimmy Anderson bouncer hit me straight in the grill and on close up you can see my tooth pop out was quite gross. I'll be back in to bat next wicket.
Re: Cricket Had this email from Eakes today, and thought it was worth sharing so that we can all laugh at him....
Did you see how Vettori got run out on Saturday? It was one of the most ridiculous run outs you’ll see. Well, I topped that in my game on Saturday. I was slagging off Vettori for his amateur way he got run out. Basically he was trotting back for the 2nd run and didn’t ground his bat. The stumps were broken with one leg in the air well over the line with his bat dangled up in the air. Since nothing was grounded, he was run out.
On Saturday I was batting pretty well (modest man that I am). It was time to up the tempo and I hit a big 6 of the spinner to bring up my 50. Next over I was backing up, the other batsman hit the ball to cover and I backed up. I deliberately stayed out of my crease to goad the fielder into shying at the stumps to try and get an overthrow. He took the bait brilliantly but as I went to ground my bat it slipped out of my hand. My bat was in, but unfortunately none of me was attached to it as the ball clattered against the stumps. Felt a bit of a fool really....
