Another point...

Why the hell was there a 30 minute break in between the innings? emoticon

The game had already started very late due to rain, more rain was forecast,it was blatently going to get dark earlier than normal, but they take 30 minutes for tea, when it was basically a Twenty20 match and you only have 10 minute break in those games, farcical really.

ICC regulations stipulate a minimum of 30 minute break. The umpires had no discretion to overrule it with common sense. Ian Botham was going ape on the matter !!

Yeah just seen it on SSN! Fair enough the umpires hands were tied but the ICC need to change the ruling so that common sense can prevail, New Zealand were robbed. They needed to get every possible minute on the pitch, doesn't make sense! You have to feel sorry for the spectators too, sat there all day in the cold and wet, had to wait 30 minutes before the 2nd innings and didn't get a result. The ICC need to get their heads screwed on.

Not only that Dan, the majority of them would have had to have gone to their homes in Birmingham. emoticon

Well Nath, Dan mentioned how sorry he felt for the fans as they had a pretty crappy day. So my joke was kind of "well, its worse than that, they have to return to their homes in Birmingham" playing on the stereotype that Birmingham is a bit of a hole. Get it now? Granted it wasn't one of my best to date. But when you set such high standards its difficult to always live up to that. emoticon
