How much? Outrageous suggestion.

I'll buy you three beers if they get past 450 mate!

At the rate they're going, they'll have to bat for three days to score that many!! Still, no wickets down so far (cue Eakins curse.....)

Re: Cricket

Bit harsh Nath, first day of a test match, very important session with early survival crucial. Give them some slack. Going along at 2.6 an over is fine. I'd certainly take 70 for 0 at lunch.

Maybe I'm still in 20/20 mode. Test Match cricket is just dull in comparison.

You talk tosh, test match cricket is what its all about. And I think you said that just to get this response, which means this doesn't count as biting. emoticon

Re: Cricket

Nath, some bloke on Cricinfo has the right idea.......

"Actually, this morning's cricket only shows us why Test cricket is unpopular with people who don't understand it," Stephen says by email. "People who demand insubstantial eye-candy can't comprehend what truly compelling cricket is about. Why not try and develop an understanding of Test cricket, then maybe you'll see why we think it's so good, and I dare say you too will put limited overs cricket a distant second."

Good call - 112 for 0 nows reads 117 for 3. England like no other team I know (Slip excepted) can lose wickets in clusters so regularly.

Vaughan's days are starting to be numbered.

Re: Cricket

I think you may be right about Michael. But I think he's still got one or two half decent scores in him before we politely drop him from the team.

Next tip...
Bell is ticking away very nicely. But he'll fall short of a century at around 80...

Oh dear, someone has just sent me a link to a website where I can watch the cricket live. Potentially disastrous for me with regards to doing any work. emoticon

Two things.

1. Spring, I think you're gonna owe Shearsy 3 beers.
2. Eakes, I admit I was wrong. They raised the run rate and have posted a pretty decent total for day 1. KP was dead chuffed with his hundred.
