New Website

Hi

I have stupidly taken on the responsibility of running the BCFA website. I am a bit of a amature at this so don't expect much. However I felt with the BCFA getting more and more headlines outside the Christian community that having a website which is up to date etc would be a good thing. Any way I have a load of new ideas such as team profiles, testimonies of what God has done for your team, Ref numbers, GFA fixtures and so on.

I have done the first page so far you can't do much with it other than link to other websites, could you please have a look tell me what you think and give us some feedback as to how I could improve it, I have done black and white to try and stay neutral so teams don't think i've colour coded it to their team. Also would be great to get some pics of you to add to website to brighten it up.

Also could team managers, send me their details to go on website, for example contact details, team website, description of kit, home pitch and a small team history/profile.

www.bristolchurchesfa.co.uk

Have a look at the link and see how much i've messed it up. Also although it looks ok on my computer it may be a mess on yours so please let me know what you think.

I have only done a page so can still change things so will not touch it for a couple of weeks but would be good to have it up and running ready for AGM on 26th May. Cheers

Rich - Just PM me your details if your happy to post em on website

Rich, excellent stuff. Well done for volunteering. The fact that it has up to date stuff etc is great. Will have a proper look sometime over the weekend and feedback. Hopefully come Saturday lunchtime we can give you a good headline !!

Rich, that is looking absolutely brilliant so far. The latest news section and scrolling headline is top stuff.

And...a weather forecast update!!!! I'm literally speechless with administrative excitement.

Poor effort with the link in your post though.

Liking the outlay of it. Good that you can see all the awards, next fixtures and the weather is a brilliant idea. Good to have links to here and to the EP articles. Personally, I think it could do with more colour.

Nice one for volunteering, although it definitely needs some more colour. Can you use css instead of tables and depreciated html? Then you can get some nice gradients and things going to make it look more modern, like this: http://dev.hanhamdentallab.co.uk/ or this http://www.apple.com/
It will also help search engine rankings, which will be difficult to complete in the 'football' category, but we could do well in 'christian football'. God bless you for the time though, same goes to this forum admins and the other people who keep the league going!

Geek.

Good work Rich, looks good but yeah definately needs colour, I don't think anyone would have a problem what colour you put it in. Actually, being black and white at the mo is supporting BSXI emoticon emoticon

If I had known the league wanted a new website, I would have designed it myself (being a full time web designer)

Kirb sounds like he knows what he is talking about. Kirb...I don't think he knows how to use CSS and Div's, if you only know how to use tables, then go with that. Also, you may need to help him with meta tags for search engine optimisation. I have a piece of software to submit the pages to search engines, when complete. It'll look better if we can validate the html, too. Anyway...i'll hush now emoticon
