An Opportunity .....
to sponsor me  (sorry for drawing you in with that amazingly crafty title)
a few of us in my Christian Union in Preston are doing a 30 hour sponsored famine for a Christian charity called World Vision, this year the money is going to help street children in the slums of Chennai India.
these kids are called the 'nowhere children' 'cos they basically live and die on the streets with no record that they ever existed. apparently 2.5m of Chennai's 7m population live in the slums
it's taking place from tomorrow at midday, until 6pm saturday, with the 30 hours idea being that for many people in the world's poorest countries, that is how long they go between main meals. scary
if anyone does want to spare a pound or two, my page is right here!
it's at justgiving.com, which i know a few of you boys have used for marathon's before, and is really easy to use.
also, for those of you interested in the Christian side, we will be holding prayer meetings at regular intervals during the 30 hours, mainly at the traditional meal time slots (not that they exist for students!) as these will be the times when we want to most support each other and remained focused on our Christian brothers and sisters around the world rather than our own hunger.
if you get the chance to pray for us, that would be really cool, i think this is going to be an important time for us spiritually,

yeh, we're allowed water.
