It's the first test today, so in comes the rain....
Ironic that after a decent spell of nice weather, the rain returns just as England are due to start their campaign against NZ. (Or is it just bad luck?)
Anyway, I guess we must be favourites following our winter win against them. Good to see the young bowling attack getting another chance ahead of wasters like Harmison. Vaughan needs a good series, or his position could be under threat, same for Strauss. And it would be nice if Pieterson rediscovered some of his magic more consistently too.

Indeed, play will be very scratchy today I reckon. I'm off to Lords tomorrow, forecast a bit better but not great.
I would have gone for Hoggard ahead of Anderson. Just too inconsistent for my liking.
I feel sorry for Shah, Strauss has had a lot of chances and yes he got a ton in that last test in Napier but I could have scored a ton if I had been given that many chances (OK I couldn't but you get my point).
Interestingly a 5 day pass for the test in Wellington was almost half the price of 1 days play at Lords. £60 for a day's play is taking the mick I reckon.

That's quite bad, just over £30 for all 5 day's - that's amazing!
