Too often people are saying the favourites will shine through... We've seen so many bow out this year. That's why I tried to pick people outside the top 3 at the start. And although Tursunov didn't exceed the third round, Murray is still in there. Therefore...
I think there's a big difference between Fed and Nadal and that rest of the 'favourites'. They're both a couple of levels above the chasing pack, though with a little more consistency Djokovic could be up there as well. Hard to see beyond the top two for the final anyway.
In the ladies I have to agree that an all Williams final would be a huge let-down. Nothing to do with their Dad (or them), but I don't really enjoy watching either of them play - it sounds harsh but their game is just too 'masculine' for my liking - and their matches against each other are generally mind-numbing. That said, they deserve a hell of alot of respect for what they've acheived, especially at Wimbledon.

I did think that Djokovic was getting pretty close to Fed and Nadal, but I'm not so sure after his flop this week. Still think he's clearly the third best in the world, and if he keeps improving (I think he's only 20 still isn't he?), he may well make it a "top 3", rather than the "top 2" we have now.
Incidentally, why do tennis players get good so young? Fed's been number 1 since he was about 23 I think, Nadal has been up there from 18 onwards, Djokovic is 21 at most. You also don't see many players going much into their 30's, and they're usually past their best by then.

You are probably right, but I'd love you to be wrong.
I would love anything but an all Williams final, Their father is an idiot!
So their Father is an idiot so they should be punished for it?
Yes, If they get knocked out, we won't be seeing any more of him. I am not a fan of them regardless of Richard Williams, he is just an irritating extra.

How awesome was Nadal last night? Even though he was playing Murray, I did actually want him to win. However, I'm not a Murray-hater like Dan. I just think Nadal is the only person who can possibly beat Federer at Wimbledon. If Murray had somehow managed to beat him, it would have been straight sets all the way for Fed. At least now we should get a decent, competitive final.
I'll still be supporting Federer, There is just something about Nadal that I don't really like, maybe it is his arrogance. Federer to me is so much more modest and likeable with it.

Re: Tennis Thread
Good to see Murray admit he was outclassed last night. Probably didn't quite do himself justice but that probably says more about how good Nadal was I reckon.

Re: Tennis Thread
I did not see a great deal of the game, and cannot remember if I head this on TV or Radio. In December when there are no competitions being Played, Rafa spents the month aiming to improve on parts of his game that he thinks he can, and also trying out different types of shot.
Heard the interview with Andy Murray this morning, he made a very intresting comment. It was that Nadal's top spin was coming much lower over the net than last year and was therefore zipping faster off of the surface and quicker onto the racket and was harder to control.
By the time a lot of players have worked out how to play it Rafa will have thought of something else.
