Re: Tennis Thread
Granted Nath, but you were talking about her tennis ability, Dave was not. Only Dan raised this most crucial point.

Yeah, Fed will win Wimbledon.
In years past, I would have agreed. I'm not quite so sure this time. I don't think Nadal will beat him, but Djokovic could. We'll have to see how Fed does in Hamburg.
And by Hamburg, I meant Halle.
Just over a week to go, and I think there could be 3 contenders for the title. Nadal and Djokovic both won their semis fairly easily (did Nalbandian even try against Djokovic?) at Queens. Should be a good final today. I'm gonna back Nadal as he seems to be in such unbelievable form at the moment, even though it's not his best surface.
In Halle, Fed made it through to the final pretty comfortably, and has to play some German guy who's about 20th in the world. He seems to think he's playing well and moving well. He's yet to drop his serve in that tournament, and hasn't lost there since 2002 (he's also something like 58 matches unbeaten on grass - still a way off Nadal's record on clay which went into the 80's I think)!! I think I'm right in saying that every year Fed's won Halle, he's gone on to win Wimbledon.
Still think Fed is the man to beat at Wimbledon. It'll be interesting to see which side of the draw Djokovic is on though. If he's on Fed's side, he'll probably have to beat Djokovic and Nadal in 3 days. Both should push him pretty hard.

Re: Tennis Thread
Nadal vs Federer in the final. Anything could happen then.
Andy Murray to be out in first round.

Re: Tennis Thread
I think the final will be between the big 2.
Look out for Benjamin Becker, Ivo Karlovic and Mario Ancic to perhaps cause a shock or two.
Also expecting Nalbandian to go out early after his no show at Queens.
Don't really care how Andy Murray gets on, he openly dislikes England so I'm not too keen on him either.

Re: Tennis Thread
Mario Ancic is good actually, don't know others. Think Hewitt will make one last attempt at Wimbledon and do reasonable.

Ancic has always been bigged up but he's never delivered.

Re: Tennis Thread
I think Hewitt is well past it, he's been given a seeding that is 7 better than his world ranking. Even that won't help past him the 3rd or 4th rounds.
Dan, don't talk rubbish - Ancic has already reached a final this year, he just struggles with injury. It happens to the best of us
