Portugal were strong and there is someone not too far away who backed France to win this tournament - aka "This boy knows his stuff".

I thought one of Switzerland, Austria or Greece would win it. emoticon

Pre tournament I fancied Germany, Spain and Italy. During it I think the Italians will time their run pretty weell. My philosophy is this - rock up to a tournament, think who is playing well etc and then back Germany.

Guilty as charged. However, at the time I backed them (with money I might add)....
- I hadn't seen them play, so I didn't realise how crap they were going to be
- no one realised how much bad luck they were going to suffer
- I didn't know that their hotel was in a cul-de-sac, with all the negative energy that brings

To further defend myself, I have only twice before placed money on the winners of a tournament, those times being the last two world cups. Both times I placed my bets before a ball had been kicked, and both times I was right. This was just third time unlucky. emoticon
