Pre tournament I fancied Germany, Spain and Italy. During it I think the Italians will time their run pretty weell. My philosophy is this - rock up to a tournament, think who is playing well etc and then back Germany.
And I thought Holland would win their group, Villa would score 4 goals in the group stages and Schweinsteiger would get sent off - hindsight is a beautiful thing Mr Eakins.

Guilty as charged. However, at the time I backed them (with money I might add)....
- I hadn't seen them play, so I didn't realise how crap they were going to be
- no one realised how much bad luck they were going to suffer
- I didn't know that their hotel was in a cul-de-sac, with all the negative energy that brings
I was sucked in by the French pre-tournament too. They only conceded 5 goals in qualifying and were privileged enough to have Evra on the bench and Flamini not even in the squad.
It was reminiscent of Woodies last season when they flattered to deceive

And we had a Frenchman who threw his toys when he wsn't selected for the final. The similarities are uncanny.

Can't believe they played Abidal ahead of Evra.
Talking of the best left back in the world reminded me how impressive Bosingwa was last night. He'll be in my fantasy football team next season.

Is this the bloke Chelsea signed? Lee Dixon was slagging him off saying he cant defend. Great going forward though. Another Johnson.

Dan, Evra!
Bosingwa should get plenty of points pushing on and he's got a solid Chelsea defence to back him up!

Very impressive going forward, and looked very quick. Not convinced he's the best defensively.
