2008/2009 Fixtures?

Does anyone know when we are due to get the fixture list.

Particularly keen to see the cup draw and who is in the Prelim. Will be helpful for all clubs sorting out pre season friendlies and whether we can use 30/8.

By 31st July I believe. Ben needed to give teams time to say which weekends they couldn't do. No doubt they all haven't sent him details.

So who do people want first up on 6th September?

Do you want one of the new boys up from Div 2 hoping they wouldn't have climatised to the faster pace (!!) of Div 1 or maybe even one of the big boys who might not be up to race pace yet and spring a surprise? Last season BS XI were slow to start but then pretty invincible from then on in, maybe a good time to play them?

Think I would like to see a few crackerjack fixtures first up. Would love to See BS XI v Slip first game of the season.

I'm sure this was mentioned at the last meeting, but I can't remember. Are all the games going to be at Cadbury's again?

The worst game for us would be Sanctuary because it's a derby game and you couldn't predict a score as well as losing to them would just be the gutter for the rest of season not to mention they wouldn't let us hear the end of it.

Last year we had a tough game against Nailsea first up, I honestly believe had this game come a month later we would have beat them and been promoted. Would like a nice easy game so we can have some points on the board this time, but looking at the 12 teams there are no easy games. BS4 and Gordano will be much improved and I think will start strongly.

Will be interesting to see what Kensington, Edge and Isreal will be like non of them will be easy games with a lot of experience in the managing side of things.

Always best to play a good team first and hope the cadburys game is away from home one less fixture to travel for us. Which plays a big part in our results.

Would like to play one of the title contenders early doors. But who are they? Looks a pretty tight league. BS4 and Gordano aside last season. BS4 are definitely improving don't know about Gordano. Hmm maybe Gordano away at cadbury's would be good so we don't have to travel 400 miles to get there. In fact that would be the best possible draw, it would half our away travelling!

We'll take anyone, the only way is up!

p.s. if you get BSXI and Ticks asks you to postpone because they are all on holiday, refuse!!

We have the "Widcombe" rule these days to avoid such eventualities Ian.
