Re: WSM Peir in flames. Slightly random caption on one of the BBC photos this morning saying that 'the fire could be seen as far away as Wales'. The caption didn't go on to note that you could actually see Wales very clearly in the picture, so this wasn't the most remarkable claim.
Always hated the place myself, but has to be gutting for all the guys that look like losing their jobs.
Re: WSM Peir in flames. My mother was supposed to be visiting my grandad today, he lives on the seafront. unsurprisingly she decided to give it a miss.
They have closed most of the roads nearby.

And the income that the pier would have bought in during the holidays. It was a classic pier, massive shame but hopefully they can rebuild.
