'who slotted away first time on his left foot.'

My goal was a better finish than that! Maybe I should have done the match report Eakes

And Rory's open goal miss was from about 3 yards out, you've been very generous there!

Kirby, Nath's miss was nowhere near a bad miss. Like he said, he hit it from about 18 yards, it was slightly behind him and on his weaker foot and only went about a yard wide. Definately a half chance but a good effort.

It was a good finish - I've not said it wasn't. It was a first time finish on your left foot.

Think you've been a bit generous to me. More like 2 or 3 yards wide with my effort. Also realised I haven't mentioned the pen that Shearsy should have had but for the ref randomly looking somewhere else at the time.

Disappointing to see the defence being criticised again despite keeping another clean sheet.

If it wasn't for Rory's embarrassing miss from 6 yeards, Nath would have miss of the season from slotting it wide left from 10 yards or so. However, there's only been 1 match and we didn't miss may.

Jog on. You clearly couldn't see from where you were on the halfway line. I reckon I hit it from just outside the area, so at least 18 yards out, had the keeper to beat and a defender on my back. More a half chance than a miss.

Re: The 'Slip Thread

The defence looked really solid on Saturday - I couldn't fault any of you - I doubt anyone would disagree with that. I thought Fordy, Nath and Flynn were the stand out performers.

Nath, you looked quality but you can be much more of a nuisance if you use your strength more, no more Mr Nice Guy please emoticon I would also like to see Shearsy pushing on more, he's got a quality delivery and Johnsy covers behind him well, so we can make more of him down the left hand side.

Flynn is much stronger through the middle, he looked a threat all game and Kirby looked very good when he went to get the ball after it went out emoticon

Far too many needless rash challenges from both sides, there's no place for it in our league but it was a good game to watch.

Encouraging start boys but don't rest on your laurels!

Spoken by a man who seems to have accepted the fact he'll be watching a lot from the sidelines. Maybe you could do something useful like look after Nath's little girl. We're doing a similar thing with JP and Andy B's little girl. emoticon
