Re: The 'Slip Thread

Sounds like the ref was a bit of a "homer" Nath. Who was it? I also assume the linesman that the ref consulted with to disallow the goal was a Slip player? I think when refs do that they are on dodgy ground, just opens it up for disagreement.

Most refs just ask the linos to flag for offsides and throw ins.

We've never had him before. He usually refs the Sanctuary apparently. It was our lino that he consulted with, yes. Have to admit we definitely got the rub of the green with him, but honestly, we didn't pay him anymore than usual. emoticon

Re: The 'Slip Thread

Ref made a few funny decisions for both sides. Missed the most blatant handball by their striker at one point (which some of their team then tried to claim was by a Slip player) and their 3rd goal was clear obstruction on the keeper. So whilst i'd agree he gave us a fair few decisions it wasn't all one sided. The ref was not biased, just bad.

Correct. When you have club assistants, you do not trust their judgement no matter what team they are. This is taught by the GFA. You only entrust them for offsides, and when the ball goes out of play.

Nath, you wrote...'Redshaw nipped in'.

That suggest you were quick emoticon

And their 3rd goal was a defo foul on Nick, their striker hauled him to the ground rugby style!
