Hello to all,

Some intesting thoughts there Crofty. Not quite so sure why you've shot us down so much. Infact we have signed up several new recruits this summer and have a couple of students coming back from year-out placements, so our squad is looking even stronger than last year.

The league looks like its going to be a very close run thing and I would say the title contenders will be Hilfields, SAS, Welton, CCC - and us (hopefully)! However, I don't know anything about Pistols, Israel or Kensington so any of those could easily be in the mix!

Not sure about Rock, but can merely presume they have dropped a division as they are unable to field the same crop of players as last year.

As for the rest - BS4 looked a lot stronger towards the end of last season and I wouldn't put a mid-table finish past them, whilst Hayhill and Sacturary will be there or there abouts. Gordano will improve on last term and I expect tougher games against them this season.

All in all - it's going to be another cracking season - I can't wait!

HI Rob no disrespect to Widcombe, just went for a prediction you came out a little low. In all honesty with all the confidence brimmimg through this thread looks like it's gonna be a tough league, Also if your predicted 11th in this league if last year is anything to go by then it may mean your not too far off top. It isn't gonna be an easy league and if anyone can get a foot hold like BUCU did last year then they may walk it as I can see a lot of points being shared around.

BS4 will improve Ian Chappel is a motivator and will get those boys playing.

Pressure is on the likes of Widcombe, Hillfields CCC after what I would say were good seasons last year perhaps above expectations they will be expected to follow
At least one of the new teams will be up their, I think Kensigton have some ex christchurch boys running them.

Gordano will fair better than last year but not sure if they will get out of the bottom 3 or so. Bristol Pistols and israel should be strong.

Sanctuary may struggle not sure yet and Hayhill may be rebuilding.

Rock have to be favourites then its anyone else to go up with them.

still wont be underestimating you though Chappelle. No doubt you will have a few new faces and a well drilled defence. Should be fun...

Sorry Ian - you can blame Annette for that!

Maybe BS 4 BS 11 is not a bad prediction...?

That's right, blame your better half! Tell her you said that! emoticon

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD

Hello to you all, from another first poster, starting my literary career with an erratum.

Don't know where the breakdown in communication occurred but Hayhill have changed their home ground for the upcoming season. However, the new fixture list still names our old venue.

Our new home is at Saltford Sports Club, Wedmore Rd, Saltford, BS31 3BY.
(so no more post-match warm downs involving fences, railway lines and balls)

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD

Well after playing in Nailsea Tounrament on Sat, I found a bit of info on our second divison hopefuls. A couple of lads from Gordano joined our team for the 6 a side but didn't sound very optimistic for the season, I think they will struggle to not finish bottom. BS4 won their first games and made a final which will no doubt boost their confidence, i can see them getting some shock results and Widcombe looked strong making the final V Hillfields. I can see them being stronger than I first predicted. The problem at the moement is what will the 3 new teams do? Hope and Hayhill have linked so they will be a dark horse for promotion.

Hey first time poster here!
Im the captain of BS4 and after the nailsea tournament i can happily say that we have gained a little bit of confidence knowing we have now won a game.
regarding Division 2... i think Hillfields are going to be a very tough team to beat and they are my tip for the title. Widcombe also looked good so i expect them to be up there too.
Hopefully we can finish at least mid table and i think we are capable of it!!

You know how it is Crofty. Ever since their "relegation" 2 seasons ago, we don't refer to Slip as a Div 1 team either.
