Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD

Well done on the win, Crofty. Deserved the win, we were poor pretty much everywhere on the field. Pretty annoying being a lone striker with nothing to do.

You played well Jamie kept the defence on their toes and as much it is a shame that we didn't keep a clean sheet think the pen you won was just deserts for your efforts.

I didn't have much service to be honest. It was thump...and make Jamie run after it. The bous should be much more up for it, and play much better. I think Lenny will have some words to say if we play like last Saturday.

Is that what they mean when they say a striker is having a goal drought? emoticon

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD

I went and watched the Sanctuary play Kensington on Saturday and even though at times it was scrappy they ended up winning very comfortably against a decent Kensington team. I cannot see The Sanctuary not being promoted now, and very likely as champions. Also SAS beat Rock which I think established two things firstly it put SAS firmly in the driving seat for second place and with their superior goal difference I cannot see them being caught, something nobody can do now on points, it also likely ended Rock’s promotion push (although never say never).

Sanctuary and SAS have to slip up and Sanctuary big time if they are to not go up. We now have third place in our own hands but finishing third will be hard to take if we do as the games we lost were our own doing and could have been avoided. Rock losing to SAS shows they may be a season short of gaining promotion, but still they have only lost to the big two and Widcombe will remain in the top five but like Hillfields and Rock will likely just miss out on going up.

Sanctuary have 2 big games now, Rock this week and SAS the following if they managed to avoid defeat in both then they are champions. I can only see SAS losing to The Sanctuary at best and that will still put them in control with a massive goal difference.

I think that the rest of table will likely remain as it is with perhaps Israel pushing on a little bit.

I think this weekend’s results have proved significant on who will now go up!

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD

So another weeks passes by and the top four all win again. The Sanctuary are now promoted as far as I am concerned too many scenarios have to happen for them to fall out of the top, the only question is will they finish 1st or 2nd. That will be decided this Saturday, a win for SAS and there is every chance they can pip Sanctuary to the title, a win or draw for Sanctuary and it’s the title as they would be at least 10 points clear of their next rival. A win for SAS I believe will also pretty much cement their promotion place although they do have a double header against Widcombe which I can see them possibly slipping up in.

We need to keep winning games and hope SAS slip up, if we drop any points I think it is SAS and Sanctuary. Rock have fallen out of contention but may well still have a say on who will go up, Widcombe are the outside bet and dark horses to sneak a promotion place, if they can keep their strongest team then it is in their hands whether or not they go up. I would now say that it is one from three with Sanctuary already there and Rock just slipping away.

I feel the rest of the table won’t change too much Welton should climb up a bit more and Israel and C3 may battle it out for 5th place. Also from what I saw of pistols they could be capable of getting taking some points off of teams and moving a little higher!
