like i sed earlier im not sure whats happening nxt season yes i will lose players but this has happened to this team every season!!
But we wont be folding because iv lost 2 players or so there are other things i havent been happy about with regards to incidents this season(not going into detail)
i have been disappointed how it has gone for welton this season and we have suffered from a terrible winter form which has wrecked are season however we have been harder to beat recently and pulled of greatr results!! which is a positive!!
rome wasnt built in a day as they say and the easiest thing to do would be to walk away!
would that be fair on the other lads who do want to play for welton NO
but theres 4 games left ill be there at the presentation night so we got things to look forward to then will look at next season!!
That's the spirit Lenny!

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
SAS are really looking forward to getting to grips with Division 1 next season. Should we be expecting a big step up in standard? I've not watched any of the teams before but somehow get the impression it's gonna be tough.
Certainly if we can tighten up our defence to match The Sanctuary's (this season) we'll hold our own, as scoring seems not to be a problem for us; but that may well come down to how many Saturday shifts Dom W has to do! - we've conceded very few goals when he's at the back.
With just 2 games left we've given up on winning the league, but have to admit that with Sanctuary's results over the last few games they certainly appear to be the deserved Div 2 Champions.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
well ian welton / welstock has been part of my life for 5 seasons now!! i do enjoy playing in this league and theres prob no other league like this! it be a shame for it all to end! hopefully itll continue!!
as for the sanctuary and SAS i think they could more than hold there own in div 1 the reason why?
They can score goals if you can score goals in that divison we struggled to find the back of the net quite a few times and i think that was the down turn when we went up there!! itll be a really difficult tussle next season to beat the drop!!

When we were there we also struggled to hold a lead. If the tables were based on results at half time we'd of stayed up. I think fitness/stamina tells over 90 minutes and weaknesses are pin-pointed. Good Luck.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
With us being only team to finish their league campaign today I have looked at the latest table and it just shows even more the acheivment of what SAS and Sanctuary have done.
We will finish 20 points off of Sanctuary and a likely 16 off of SAS. That means that when we lost our forth league game to C3 in November (YES NOVEMBER) it was effectively over for us in terms of going up based on the results since then. We went through a spell of losing 3 and drawing 3 in Feb/Mar thats only 15 points the only points we have dropped since losing to C3, even with a straight bunch of wins in those games we would still of finished 3rd all beit 1 point behind.
Also we have the next best goal difference on +30 Kensington have the next best goals scored on currently 73, Sanctuary are on +104 with 115 goals scored and SAS on +94 with 123 goals scored that is just ridiculously good.
It makes me feel less disappointed about not going up as 45 points and 70 goals has often seen a team up in this division however this year SAS and Sanctuary have just been exceptionally good and uncatchable. I am please that we have been the main team at stages to keep the pressure on and finishing third is a good achievement considering our poor start.
We conceded 40 goals in the league, 21 of those in our first 3 league games, I think we recovered well and we couldn't in be any better shape for the final as we are now with 4 straight wins and unbeaten in 6, just gutted BUCU seem to be on form.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
Mr Baker e-mail the rules over and I noticed that there is a section that says BCFA must consist of 2 leagues with a maximum of 15 in each, therefore, if we end up with over 15 teams on top of the 10 1st Div ones then Nailsea and whoever may yet keep their place in Div1 - is this how other managers read it?

Nope. Rules are there to be broken. In all seriousness, those rules get updated every year if needs be. Ie a rule change would need to happen if we wanted to go to 3 divisions. Not sure what the state of play on that is, all will be revealed at the AGM I am sure.
And Crofty, surely you have something better to do on a Sunday than read the BCFA rules. Were you looking for a rule that banned teams from having players called "Ricky" thus overturning Sanctuary's promotion??

Or a rule that any team with the name Sanctuary in their name cannot win anything surely that would be a rule to benefit us all
So those BCFA rules are sorted by the committee not GFA so they can be amended wasn't sure if it was a GFA agreement or not.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
Not just the Committee. Changes need to be voted on by the teams, usually done at the AGM (Si Baker loves that sort of thing).
