Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
I think Widcombe will get 4th spot by beating Kensington with Rock 5th.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
So Div 2 is one game from being over, it’s seems to of suddenly gone really quick but in the end it was pretty much decided by the end of January who would go up.
Early predictions put Hillfields, Welton, C3 and Rock as favourites to go up but surprisingly all 4 teams had below par seasons and SAS (who were expected to do well) and Sanctuary (who surprised most) have flown away with the league and promotion. So how did it finish:
Champions Sanctuary – Have won the league at a canter hammering teams and conceding very few goals, Ricky is their star man but rest of the team has contributed massively to getting them back up!
2nd SAS – Just as good as Sanctuary this season usually the second team is battling it out for promotion however they ended up just battling it out for first awesome season.
3rd Hillfields – Third is fair but not where they wanted to be, a shield win however makes this season all the better and 45 points is a respectable haul will want more consistency next year plus only team to beat SAS and only team to take points off of Sanctuary other than SAS.
4th Widcombe – Very similar to Hillfields, perhaps more of a consistent team may have seem them even higher!
5th Rock – Will be the danger team next season after a season of rebuilding and gaining experience, I think Rock will be happy with 5th as a platform for next year!
6th Kensington – Only team not to lose to SAS this year which is an achievement, a bit hot and cold, a more consistent team may see them higher next year!
7th C3 – probably the biggest underachievers in my book after last year I expect them to be a team to beat next season.
8th Israel – will likely fold next season have had big results this year but a lack of commitment from the top has seen them struggle.
9th BS4 – Great job from Ian which gives them a further platform to build on, I really think he can get them to be even more improved next year and spring further surprises.
10th Welton – Have underachieved this year after being in div1 last year. May struggle with players leaving next season but I expect Lenny to draft in some decent replacements and have a better season.
11th Hayhill – Very hot and cold team beat us 2-0 lost 15-1 to SAS, if they can be more consistent with their players then can see them improve but I think maybe a similar finish to this year next season.
12th Pistols – Seem to be a team in form at the moment, I can see them being much improved next year and a team to beat.
13th Gordano – Easily have the best attitude around, I just hope they are around next season.
Overall a fun season just a shame it’s over till September!

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
It's Over
Well no more games left for us with Welton finishing well and what looks like Israel folding and shipping some boys to the pips:
So not including new teams the teams in the league next year will be something like this:
BUCU
Nailsea
Hillfields
Widcombe
Rock
Kensington
C3
BS4
Welton
Hayhill
Pistols
Gordano?
If nobody joins and Gordano go then there is only 11 teams next year, however I think 2-4 teams will join and you never know Gordano may stay

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
So the league at the moment is:
BUCU
Nailsea
Hillfields
Widcombe C
Rock
Kensington
C3
BS4
Not a weak division at all, BS4 beat us and took points off of C3 and Widcombe, Kensington seem to score a lot of goals, C3 if they can be more consistent are a match for anyone, Rock I think will be the ones to watch with a year of experience for the younglings under their belts, If we can improve on last year and go one better that would be great, however it will be hard to look beyond BUCU and Nailsea both had respectable seasons and took it to the wire and they are not too different to the teams who gained promotion a year ago, I expect them to be the teams to beat.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
I would offer you a spot at Thornbury J but unlike Man United I don't think we can pay the accomodation costs to move all your family and friends half-way across the continent to sit in the reserves for a year.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
I don't do reserves
It's quite strange..I started in div 1, then went down 2 div 2 with Welton, and if I stayed..i'd be down to div3! Talk about bad luck

So, in a nutshell, what you're saying is that when you play for a team they usually go down a division. That's the way to put yourself in the shop window for this season!
