Crofty, nice to see a complete overhaul of your original league predictions.
As I previously stated, as pre-season and the season progresses expect Widcombe to inch even higher than the 6th place you have elevated them to.
Rusty, good work on the bleep test last night. Fitness coming along nicely boss.
Thats OK Hoops, we'll see when the season gets underway. Out of interest are you guys playing any preseason matches?

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
Crofty, nice to see we are now mid-table on your predictions! Much better than 11th.
I played for Woodies the other day in the friendly against SAS and SAS look good. They don't seem to have any weak links, which always puts you in good stead for this league. They play some attractive football and knock it about well, and I can see them being right up there. Hillfields also look strong and they will finish high.
We will have another good season, we won't win the league, but we will be far from the whipping boys that we used to be.
We've got a friendly against Nailsea this Sat, so that will be a test for us to see how much we have improved/not improved on last season.
Anyone know anything about Israel? - we've got them on the 1st day of the season.

The capital city is Jerusalem, their official languages are hebrew and arabic and you will need a week off work for the away game

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
Crofty, Having had many a tussle in my playing days against Hillfields on a Saturday afternoon, I am looking forward to this season. Are there any links with you and the team that play in the Bristol Prem?

Yeah being knew to Div 2 last year, I have always know Widcombe C as shall we say a bottom half of the table team, but last season you really shocked me and the league, and did the double over us. Originally predicted that it may have been a one off but hearing your comments etc sounds like your up for it and another good season.
I'll put your match up on the website let us know the score.
As for Israel, do you remember Exodus, Israel are again ran with Dougie's help, can imagine they will be similar. Only thing is they had good indivuals last time but not much teamwork I am assuming they'll be similar. They are playing Sanctuary this Sat so we'll get some idea I reckon after that.

Re: DIVISION TWO THREAD
All the best to everyne for the new season. Disappointed not to be a part of it this year, but will be keeping tabs on how things are developing throughout the campaign.
For what it's worth (bearing in mind I've got nothing to go on except last season - sorry if you're new to the league!) my tips are:
Hillfields, Rock and CCC to fight it out for the title with Widcombe and Sanctuary just behind. If it is anything like as close as last year you're all in for a fantastic season.
Enjoy!

I have been playing for Widcombe for about 8 years now, and the reason we were always struggling was becasue, although we had 8/9 very good players we were always "carrying" 2 or 3. Those days are gone now, and last season was the first time we were able to filed 11 decent players for 90% of games, hence the better league position.
As for Israel - I remember playing Exodus a few years back and they beat us convincingly, (think it was about 11-0 ) despite have 2 players sent off!
Could be a tough start for us! Will be interested to hear you match report Jed.
