Yes Liverpool will give a real challenge to the title this year, not in 2009 though. emoticon

Aren't Chelsea considering an appeal? And wouldn't they have a decent chance of being successful if so?

Re: The Premiership thread

There was a comment that the ref had sent him off for serious foul play rather than a professional foul. ie he hacked him halfway up his leg and rugby tackled him. Don't reckon he will win his appeal, and quite rightly so.

Just read that elsewhere actually, and you're right. Doesn't look like Chelsea are even likely to appeal. 3 game ban for Terry. emoticon

Not a great advert to kids by the England captain was it?

Just as I type that, Chelsea announce they're going to appeal. Tricky one. I think he deserved the red as he was blatantly cheating, but not sure you could describe putting his arm across Jo and impeding him as "using exessive force", which is the description of serious foul play.

Re: The Premiership thread

No chance of a successful appeal.

"Straight red cards cannot be downgraded to a yellow, so Chelsea will have to successfully argue that Terry did not deserve a yellow in order to succeed in the appeal."

If thats the case, then no chance.

Not sure about that, it was a foul most centre backs would of made and you'd expect a yellow card for it (as Vidic received), I also thought Jo went down far too easy.. and no he doesn't have a right to go down

Think you've been away from playing for too long Gooner, you've gone all funny in the head with comments like that.

So what was the difference between the Vidic foul and Terry's?
