If thats the case, then no chance.

Presumably serious foul play is only punished by a red card. Therefore, they'll argue that it wasn't serious foul play, the ref got it wrong so the card should be rescinded. Don't reckon it'll work though.

Incidentally, can anyone think of any other instance when you would use the word "rescinded"?

Terry was harshly sent off. There are 3 aspects to a foul, careless, reckless and excessive force. Careless - free kick awarded. Reckless - yellow. Excessive force - red. And also red for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. No way was it an obvious goal scoring opportunity, nor was it excessive force. Definate yellow but no way red. Vidic was rightly sent off, his 2nd wasn't too unlike Kovac's challenge on Joe Cole last week, could have easily been a red. Fergie moaning because Carra always leads wth his arm too. Maybe Fergie, but he doesn't smack someone in the back of the head with his elbow!

Oh and....

Si I think you've been playing Church football too long, it wasn't that bad a challenge and Jo was perfectly fine afterwards
