Interesting stat in the Bolton v Arsenal game today. After 24 minutes Arsenal had completed something like 132 passes and Bolton 19. And Bolton were winning 1-0 at the time!!!

Blimey!

Great result for Liverpool today. Jokers. Win against United, win in Marseille and draw against the mighty Stoke City.

At least we're top (for now).

Dodgy decision to disalow Gerrards goal though. Stoke got what they came for then. emoticon They will still go down.

Wasn't dodgy, fantastic decision, tight one but definitely offside.

When Gerrard struck it, there was only 1 guy offside and it was his head that was in an offside position. To the letter of the law, any part of the body that you can score with can be offside. It was Keane I think and he definately distracted the keeper by being there even though he didn't get a touch. It was offside but how can a linesman see that a head is offside?! It happens too quickly for anyone to see that. It was the right decision but I beleive made by luck rather than judgement.

Re: The Premiership thread

Yes, maybe he saw much more of the player from where he was stood. Don't think he would of been given offside if he didn't look it from where the linesman was. Or he might of not liked Liverpool and got away with it.

Draw was a fair result anyway as stoke defended well throughout.

When they did a computerised version of the event, the linesman was about a yard behind play so wouldn't have seen any of Keane as view was obstructed by a defender. But if the ref gave an offside without the linesman flagging, that is a joke considering the ref was stood outside of the box and nowhere near in line. I'm not sure if the linesman flagged though.

Re: The Premiership thread

It should be irrelevant against Stoke at home. Games like that will cost you the title, again.

Totally agree with you Beano. We should still be able to score 3 or 4 past Stoke. Still comfortably above United though emoticon
