Re: The Premiership thread
Think Liverpool threw Man U a bone yesterday. Everyone knows Liverpool never have the legs come the end of the season and Man U needed Chelseas to lose a game or 2 aswell, quite fancy the hardworking Hull to grab a point Wednesday aswell..... Come on the Hull!!!!

100% untrue. Liverpool are always solid finishers but because they are usually 5-8 points behind at this point, they still don't have enough to catch up. It's the other way round this season with United 8 points behind albeit with a game in hand but had Liverpool been in there situation, we would have been written off already.
It's not that Liverpool don't have the legs come the end of the season, it's they don't have the legs at the beginning of the season.

07/08 season - 11 points behind, 06/07 - 21 points behind, 05/06 season - 9 points behind.
Looks to me like you lose more ground

Re: The Premiership thread
Liverpool always struggle between November and February, if they can stiil be in the hunt by feb, I would fancy them.
Also want Liverpool to win as it would be 1/6th of my antepost accumulator would have come in, although as long as they win the league w/o man u and chelski.

Not sure that's entirely true. Sometimes we struggle right at the start, sometimes it's a bit later on. Either way, the last few seasons we've been out of the hunt realistically by Christmas. If we're still up there at Christmas, then I think we'll have to be considered as contenders. I still think we'd end up falling a bit short though, much as Arsenal did last season.
Alan Hansen summed it up well last night I thought. He said that United and Chelsea will still be favourites with the bookies, but Liverpool look the most likely to win it if it's not one of those two.
