Probably 5 in reality.
Thats a big lead to give Chelsea. They are looking invincible (except when we play them) this season.

Re: The Premiership thread
I've been looking at the top 4's next 5 league maches leading up to Christmas to see who might drop points where...
Chelsea
Newcastle (h) - win
Arsenal (h) - Hard to call as Arsenal are very inconsistent this season but could be a draw.
Bolton (a) - win
West Ham (h) - win
Everton (a) - tricky game if Everton keep up their good form. Could be a draw but can't se Chelsea losing.
Points - 13
Liverpool
Fulham (h) - win
West Ham (h) - win
Blackburn (a) - Blackburn are poor at home and not great this season, win.
Hull (h) - win
Arsenal (a) - Again, could go anyway but I reckon a draw.
Points - 13
Man United
Villa (a) - Villa will be high after beating Arsenal, draw.
Man City (a) - United lost both derby games last season, could lose this one but I'm going for a draw.
Sunderland (h) - win
Spurs (a) - unsure as to how Spurs will be playing then but I think win for United.
Wigan (h) - postponed due to World Club Champonship.
Points - 8
Arsenal
Man City (a) - draw
Chelsea (a) - draw
Wigan (h) - win
Boro (a) - draw
Liverpool (h) - draw
Points - 7
So the league would look like this...
Chelsea played 18, points 45
Liverpool played 18, points 45
United played 16, points 32
Arsenal played 18, points 30
So if United win their 2 games in hand (home to Wigan and Fulham, likely 6 points), then they would be 7 points behind.
Arsenal would be 15 points behind and out of the race.
An interesting few weeks ahead before Christmas, I can't wait for each set of fixtures!

Re: The Premiership thread
I bet you Liverpool do not get 4 wins and a draw from that lot. You're still wearing blinkers Dan.

Who do you think we'll drop points against?
Blackburn away possibly and quite likely Arsenal but not any of the home games IMO.

Why am I wearing the blinkers? Can we have no credit for being on 32 points after 13 games?! Surely we have a right to think we can take that many points after the start we have had?
I would give absolutely anything to win this league (in football terms, not life generally) and when people say things like that it gets me even more into it, if that's possible! I be happy for us to get knocked out of champs league embarrasingly in the last 16, get knocked out of the FA cup 3rd round against a non-league team and for England not to qualify for the world cup.

Why? We are strong favourites in 4 of those 5 games.

Re: The Premiership thread
I say that because Liverpool aren't consistent enough yet in my opinion. Surely you were favourites to beat Stoke weren't you?? I think Liverpool are closer in terms of challenging but still a step behind Man U and Chelsea.

Dan, just quote it and remember it so that you can bring it up again if we match (or better) your predictions.
For the record, I don't think it's unrealistic. I think you've underestimated United though. I reckon they'll beat Villa.

Surely United were favourites to beat Newcastle? And favourites to beat us?
We've beaten Chelsea and United this season and only dropped points in 3 of our 13 games.
How is that not consistent?
