Not sure what happened there but I feel a bit for some footballers. Gerrard always seems a model pro and doesn't court the publicity. I can imagine some Everton fan wanting a bit of a go when he sees Gerrard out and about. Not condoning it if he has been out of line but I don't see him as some sort of Woodgate thug.

Not pleased that they've charged him, obviously they have some evidence against him, but still, innocent until proven guilty.
What is the usual punishment for assault, if it's your first offence?

He then backed off and his mates piled in. Not sure what he's likely to get, but if that was his only involvement, hopefully just a fine (from a Liverpool point of view).
